/ Project Overview.
Situated at Elsie Road SE22, this project entailed a carefully orchestrated two-bedroom Hip to Gable loft conversion, embodying natural light and space optimisation. This comprehensive endeavour included permitted development, bespoke glazing, recessed lighting around skylights and large windows, high-end fixtures and fittings, and a seamless integration of new, modern staircase with the existing one.
/ Clients Requirements and Goals.
The client sought to cultivate a radiant living space abundant in natural light. They expressed a preference for recessed lighting around large windows and roof lights. High-end fixtures were preferred to add an elegant touch to the loft’s overall aesthetic. They also requested a unique layout, facilitating access to the loft bathroom from both bedrooms, alongside a full re-roof.
/ Challenges and Solutions.
While the eleven weeks consisted of fulfilling the client's requirements, we adeptly navigated some challenges along the way:
Staircase Integration: We harmonised the modern stairs and loft hallway with the traditional staircase seamlessly, utilising an innovative layout.
Lighting: With clever design, we achieved a balance between the natural light pouring through large windows and soothing ambience of the recessed lighting.
Spatial Configuration: Clever space management helped us carve out a spacious bathroom that could be accessed from both bedrooms.
Joinery within Tight Spaces: Meticulous craftsmanship enabled us to fit eaves joinery in constricted spaces effectively.
Our loft conversion project at Elsie Road boasted large, modern glazing and high-end fixtures that spoke of uncompromised standards. Creative placement of recessed lighting set the stage for a captivating play between light and shadow within the space.
